Date added: 26.05.2014 Child accidentally chewed the diaper and ate some jellylike substance of absorbent filler. Is it dangerous for his health?
Jellylike substance – is high-polymer absorbent filler. Its safety has been proved by numerous tests for the possibility of acute food poisoning. High-polymer absorbent filler inside of the unused diaper looks like absorbent granules mixed with a soft mass which also has absorbent properties. If accidentally a big amount of filler is swallowed, it may cause obstruction of the larynx, so when this occurs it is necessary to release the child’s mouth from the absorbent and consult a doctor immediately. If a child accidentally drank filler with some liquid, then there are no reasons to worry, it will be released from the body during the next urination without staying in it. However, if the filler got into the stomach being mixed with feces or urine, you should consult a doctor.
