Date added: 23.05.2014 What should be done to avoid leakage?

There are two main reasons for the disposable diaper leakage:

  • Urine volume exceeds the absorption of the disposable diaper.
  • After the diaper has been put on, due to excessive mobility the gap formed between baby’s legs and the diaper, or between baby’s waist and the diaper, and even though the diaper can absorb the liquid, it leaks along the edges. To avoid leakage, you need to choose the right size diaper, put it on correctly, and do everything possible to avoid such a gap forming or make it much smaller.

    Tummy/Sides

    - Does the tape fit right?

    - Is there any offset to the left or the right side?

-Adjust the diaper so that you can barely stick a finger between baby’s tummy and the diaper.

    - Check that the fixing tape is adjusted equally on the left and on the right

    Tummy

-Adjust the diaper so that you can barely stick a finger between baby’s tummy and the diaper.

-Putting on the diaper check whether the diaper rubs, especially if the child is a boy.

    Back

    - Is there gapping between the back and the diaper?

    - Has the diaper lumped?

    - Adjust the diaper so that you can barely stick a finger between baby’s tummy and the diaper.

    - Secure the tape tightly, so that even during active baby’s feet movements diaper would not slip away or lump

    Legs

-Are not the diaper’s frills wrapped inside?

    - If frills around the legs are wrapped inside it can cause diaper leakage. Straighten the frills out.

-Are the internal frills of the diaper straightened?

    - If frills around the legs are wrapped inside it can cause diaper leakage. Straighten the internal frills out.

    - If the diaper on baby boy is put on incorrectly it can cause diaper leakage.

    - Is there gapping in the child’s groin?

-Take the diaper up and readjust the tape.

    - If the diaper still fits loose, no matter how hard you try it tighten it up, choose one size down diaper.
